Bill LeGrice Roses

Bill LeGrice

This is the official website for Bill LeGrice Roses, one of the UK's oldest Rose Growers. We have been supplying quality rose bushes since 1920 from our nurseries in Norfolk, England.

We introduce new rose varieties and whilst specialising in unusual colours we carry a wide range of over 350 varieties including the best of the modern bush roses, climbing roses, rambling roses, shrub roses, ground cover roses, old shrub roses and standard roses. Easy to grow, roses offer an unrivalled selection of colour for the garden and we hope our interactive site will help you select the right roses for the right position in your garden.

Simon Callow and Red Ribbon

2012 saw the launch of our new rose ‘Red Ribbon’ (Horhello) at the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show by Simon Callow. This rose is to commemorate the 30th Anniversary of the Terence Higgins Trust of which Simon Callow has been a strong and consistent supporter of its wide reaching work.

We were delighted to launch two new roses at the Hampton Court Flower Show 2011. Katie’s Rose (Horrapture) is a superb dark purple bush rose named for Katie Thompson an up and coming young Norfolk talent with a superb singing voice, and Norfolk Glory (Horregina) a beautiful scented soft orange floribunda, chosen by the Norfolk Federation of Womens’ Institutes to celebrate their 90th Anniversary.

Mail Order Season

March is one of our busiest months for sending out roses. We are here to help you so do not hesitate to contact if we can help. Plant now for colour from late May. See 'Choosing your roses'.

We still say wait until early March to do your main rose pruning. Remember to prune back newly planted roses to 3-4”. If your garden is very exposed or subject to sea breezes wait until conditions are right, often the end of March. Early pruning leads to early growth which can be easily damaged by a late April frost.
