Roses are actually quite easy to grow, and most problems can quite easily be dealt with. Remember, problems with your roses fall into just three groups:
  • A disease (like mildew or blackspot). These you can usually treat with a fungicide.
  • A pest (like greenfly). These you can usually treat with an insecticide.
  • Bad growing conditions (like drought or shade). Therefore avoid dry or shady areas.

As a general rule, your roses are less likely to catch a disease if they are well looked after - look on the care page to see how to do this.

To find out what's wrong with your roses, just click on the thumbnail picture that looks like your problem.
